LiLo Look-A-Like

I hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!

I know talking about my skin is quite a disgusting topic, but it's my blog, so I'm going to go for it anyway. :)

Like I said yesterday, I was pretty much okay throughout the day, despite a bit of a rash on my thigh. This morning, on the other hand, was a completely different story: I woke up looking like a leopard. I literally had spots all over my shoulder, upper arm, and chest.

(It is my blog, but I will spare you the photos that my mom forced me to take to show to my doctor.)

And if the splotchy skin wasn't bad enough, I apparently had some sort of allergic reaction at lunch. As I was eating my Chiptole (stay tuned for that meal), my upper lip felt really funny. About halfway through lunch, I went and checked the mirror: my lip was huge. Seriously, it looked like either someone had decked me in the face or I had collagen injections.

Unfortunately, I did not look like this Lindsay Lohan:

Nope. Because I was still doped up on a double-dose of hydroxyzine from last night plus a double-dose of Benadryl this morning, I looked more like this version of Lindsay Lohan:

While they're definitely not as poofy as they were earlier, they are still pretty painful. And I'm not sure what the heck I had a reaction to, as nothing that I ate was out of the ordinary. Apparently my immune system is so tanked from whatever virus I'm fighting that any teeny-weeny allergen is going to cause a ruckus.

On a much, much better note, I got to see this little guy today (who, thankfully, was not terrified by my new look):

I tried really, really hard to stay away from him, but it just wasn't possible. I may have self-control around what I eat and drink, but I have absolutely none when it comes to babies.

While Aly and her mama were shopping, Brody, my mama, my sister, and I went for a walk:

Then my Benadryl started kicking in, so I crashed on the couch. Brody started bawling, though, and then he just wouldn't stop, so I woke up, and somehow, I had "the touch." As soon as I snatched him away from whomever was holding him and bounced him around the house, he stopped crying. My mom heated up his bottle a bit more, and I sat down and started feeding him. Pretty soon, both of us were struggling to keep our eyes open:

He is just the sweetest, most beautiful baby on the face of this earth.

Seriously: I die.

When Aly and crew left to head back to Lincoln, my dad left to run an errand, and my mom and sister and I headed to Barnes & Noble and Target for some girl time.

We came back home, ate dinner, and are currently lounging. I love being home.

I whipped up a batch of one of my favorite (and one of the easiest) breakfasts: Blueberry Scrambled Eggs. As a refresher, this consists of four eggs, a handful of blueberries, a sprinkle of cinnamon and ground black pepper, and a splash of coconut aminos. I whisk it all together before dumping it in a pan to heat like scrambled eggs.

I had a Chipotle Burrito Bowl that consisted of steak, fajita vegetables, pico de gallo, medium salsa, lettuce, and guacamole. It was really, really good, but apparently my body is allergic to something in there.

My mom graciously swung by Chipotle to grab that for me while everyone else enjoyed my absolute favorite Omaha meal:

I know that this is oriented the wrong way, but I'm too lazy to fix it.
Thai pizza from Zio's. Seriously. So jealous. (BUT, I would have been more jealous had I been eating scrambled eggs (again) instead of Chipotle.)

After shopping and before dinner, I snacked on some trail mix from Target (cashews, almonds, and craisins), even though the craisins included a bit of sugar, and a hard-boiled egg.

My mama made salmon with lemon zest, salt, and pepper; roasted sweet potato medallions; roasted sweet peppers; and avocado and tomato salad.

How cute was the salad?

Dinner was really, really tasty.

I hope you all have an absolutely wonderful rest of your night and a restful, relaxing, family-filled Sunday!
