I promise this blog is not going to turn into dating stories. (I mean, if that were to happen, whatever would become of my plan for a book proposal?!) But bear with me.
For the past week, I feel like I have been the role of Matthew McConaughey in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Oh, I haven't met this person. Ever.
Looks like I'm headed straight down crazy-cat-lady alley.
And frankly, after the experiences I've had with the dating pool in Des Moines, I'll gladly live alone.
Now, let's get to the good stuff: today was really, really long - which means that tonight's post is going to be really, really short.
For breakfast, I had a strawberry Chobani mixed with about a fourth of a cup of All Bran cereal. For my morning snack, I ate a Kind Bar - they're all-natural and gluten-free (and, quite possibly, my new favorite things). Lunch was the last serving of Chili Mac with Jack.
And that's where the tables turned.
After school, I headed straight to the mall and to Target. I was going to get a couple more of those florescent tees from the Gap, but I was not thrilled with the selection. Instead, I went to Von Maur and tried on fancy pants. It has always been a goal of mine to buy a pair of Seven jeans, and I am thisclose to be able to fitting into a pair of really, really cute ones. They look a lot like a pair of ankle-length Gap jeans that I've had for years, which is particularly why I like 'em. Well, I didn't want to risk waiting until I lost a few more pounds, so I bought them.
That was either the biggest waste (of $170 - for jeans, I know!) or the biggest motivation ever. I'm hoping it's the latter.
Well...we know how that goes at Target.
I walked out with a huge tub as well as about eight new plates, all purchased specifically for photographing my food. I couldn't pass 'em by: they were like 88 cents a pop.
I sped home, piled all of my jewelry into my new tub and then into my car, and headed to my trunk show. It was wildly successful and oh-so-much fun, but I completely forgot to eat. I snacked on three crackers and six slices of cheese - and two amazing dark chocolate and sea salt caramels - with a glass of wine, but that did not at all constitute healthy eating for my last three "meals" of the day.
With the food fiasco and the lack of working out, I'm not feeling too great about today.
Good thing there's tomorrow.
