Me Gusta Agua

Guess what I did today?  Yep: drank not one, not two, but three Nalgenes!  I had one shortly after work, one during and shortly after the soccer game, and one at trivia.  I was one thirsty girl!

This morning I got to sleep in a bit.  I had to go to an all-day training for work - which was absolutely horrible: I can read a PowerPoint on my own, thank you very much.  And unless your strategies are a bazillion times more amazing than the ones I'm already using, I don't want to hear about them.

But I digress: sleeping an extra hour was amazing.

I woke up and ate my overnight oats:

In the oh-so-cute bowl: 1/3 cup oats, one strawberry-banana Chobani, a splash of UVAB, and a sprinkling of fresh raspberries.  De...lish.

During the boring-as-all-get-out training today, my three colleagues and I spent a lot of time thinking about lunch.  When we realized that Sakari is open during the noon hour, our decision was quickly made.

To start, I ordered the octopus salad; I was famished, and, as usual, it was phenomenal:

Then, I made a mistake.  I was so hungry that I ordered two rolls - which is fine, until you realize that one of the rolls is approximately 8 million calories.

Above, you can see the "good guy" - the spicy tuna roll.  Below, you can see the "bad guy" - the Godzilla.

Please note: this is not the full roll.  Here is my plate a mere seconds after I stopped inhaling my meal and remembered to take a picture:

Oops.

After lunch, we returned for the second half of the training, and I ate two mini Reeses peanut butter cups.  It could've been a lot worse: candy was strewn about our table like crazy.  I used good self-control and only had two pieces.

Finally, the day ended, and I came home.  I had a nice hour-and-a-half of bumming around, watching Snooki, JWoww, the Situation, and Pauly D on Ellen, and getting ready for my first soccer game of the season!

The game was so much fun.  Our team looked like a bunch of ragamuffins, as our "jerseys" had not yet come in, and we were all wearing random t-shirts.  Mine was a koala bear that said "Peach Cake" below it.  How tough did I look?!  We lost, but I'm sure it was because the other team had all men (illegal), borrowed players from the other leagues (not fair), and were all-around straight-up d-bags (gross).  Oh well - it was fun, and I'm proud of how we played.

Although, I'm pretty sure this foot injury I've been battling is a little more serious than I had hoped.  My completely uninformed self-diagnosis is that it is a cuboid fracture.  I believe I'll be making a doctor's appointment tomorrow, though, to get a real professional opinion before I perform my own surgery.  (Note: my thorough research does not deem surgery an immediate treatment of cuboid issues - I believe I will be wearing a boot and/or a cast.)

Immediately following the soccer game, I headed to the Des Moines Social Club for trivia night - and made it just in the nick of time, limping around the place and looking super nasty because of the crazily sweaty game.  Because I had ingested so many calories at lunch, I made dinner super healthy and low-cal: a spinach salad topped with leftover quesadilla salsa and Rasta sauce.  It was absolutely disgusting, but the carrots and pickles that I brought along helped a little.  I'm still kind of hungry but will wait until breakfast to eat.  Ugh.

Today's grand total:

Calories: 1537
Fat: 66 grams
Carbs: 199 grams
Protein: 91.5 grams

Again, I obviously approximated.  I have no idea what all is in the Godzilla so instead went with the nutritional value of a shrimp tempura roll.  Also, the approximations for lunch were taken from random websites, and I'm not sure the reliability of any of them.  I'm really hoping I way over-estimated because those seem like ridiculously high totals.

I guess next time I go for sushi, I know not to get the tastiest of all tasty!

  1. I'm not sure why the spacing is so funny, and I don't have the energy to figure it out now...sorry.
