I need to get into a better routine.
I have been super busy this week, and I have clearly not been managing my time well since I've been blogging at 10:00 every night. I mean, let's be real: this is my bed time, y'all.
Today was especially busy: instead of teaching, I attended a district-wide curriculum-revision meeting all day long. It was really, really productive. It was also a lot of fun, as several of us have worked on committees together for quite a while now. MB (holla, yo!) was there, too, so that made it extra fun.
After that meeting, I headed to school for yet another meeting, and then I headed straight to the tennis courts for the most freezing-cold meet ever. (Thankfully we pretty much kicked butt, which meant that the meet ended fairly quickly. Regardless, I could barely feel my fingers when I got home.)
When I got home, I went straight to work: I did dishes, I did laundry, I reorganized my workout clothes (clearly that is an eight-o'clock-on-a-weeknight project...), I cooked a super-late dinner, and I packed.
Because y'all, I'm getting the heck out of dodge tomorrow and am running a half marathon on Sunday!
Eek.
I may not be prepared mentally or physically, but at least my running gear is. :)
Now that most everything is ready to go for tomorrow, I'm chilling on the couch, sandwiched by kitties -- one of whom is snoring so, so loudly:
Breakfast: Even though I was able to sleep in an extra 30 minutes due to my meeting starting later than school, I was running late. So, I ran to Bruegger's for a bagel. This was somewhat purposeful, as I also want to see how my tummy does with bread prior to race day. I still haven't figured out Paleo fueling, so I think I'm going to go with a bagel (and peanut butter and a banana) early, early, early on Sunday.
Also, I got a salted caramel coffee at Bruegger's. They don't have fancy coffee drinks there, but they do have the best brewed coffee of anywhere that I have been. This was no exception. GO.
Lunch:
The curriculum team headed to Star Bar for lunch, so I ordered my current favorite: the Sesame-Crusted Tuna Salad. As usual, it was superb.
Then, we walked across the street to Creme, and this is where it all fell apart.
Yep: Creme is a cupcake and dessert boutique.
I mean, seriously. Is that beautiful, or what?
I exhibited zero self-control today and ordered this:
However, I learned my lesson: I felt so sick for about four hours afterwards, and I didn't eat anything for eight hours afterwards.
But the real kicker? It was only okay.
And truthfully, I'm getting a little sick to my stomach even thinking about the sugar overload that I consumed.
So yes, a lesson was learned.
Dinner: I didn't take a picture of dinner because it was far from exciting: two hot dogs (Whole30-compliant) and sauteed sweet potato wedges.
And now, friends, I think it's time for me to join my passed out kitty cat. G'night!
Holy yum. That cupcake looks so delicious. Can't wait to cheer for you Sunday!
ReplyDeleteCupcakes are not ew.
DeleteThat cupcake looks awesome. I always forget about Creme. Scratch gets all of my cupcake love.
ReplyDeleteScratch is SOOOOOO good, too. I know that my tummy really hurt after that last cupcake, but I kind of want another one...
