For the next 30 days, I will be participating in the WEGO Health Activist Writer's Month Challenge by blogging about a predetermined topic each morning. Please visit http://blog.wegohealth.com to learn more - and please check back each evening for your regularly scheduled programming.
I love photography. I am an absolutely horrific photographer, but I really enjoy taking pictures (as my friends can attest to), and I really like looking at others' photos.
So, I was very excited to see today's topic, entitled "Ekphrasis Post."
First, however, I had to look up "ekphrasis." Bear with me while we learn some vocabulary together:
ek-phra-sis - noun - \ˈek-frə-səs\ - a literary description of or commentary on a visual work of art
The "assignment" was to find the "photo of the day" via Flickr and to respond to that photo, hopefully tying it in to the focus of our blog.
I thought I would be writing about the dewdrop falling off a flower petal, a breathtaking view of the architecture of Paris, or the harrowing eyes of a struggling human being.
Wow, was I mistaken.
You are going to die when you see the photograph. Brace yourself.
Really?
I have get to write a post about a devil cat? A stripey devil cat at that?
Someone knows my life.
I'm sure I could somehow metaphorically relate my struggle training for the marathon to the cat struggling to let his voice be heard (or, perhaps, I can't - that was the worst metaphor ever), but I think I'll just leave you with this. Again.
You're welcome.
How was Charlie Flickr's photo of the day?!
